Sister saves younger brother from suspected kidnapper in China
This is the dramatic moment a sister saved her younger brother from a suspected kidnapper in China.
CCTV footage shows the siblings sitting outside their home while talking to a boy wearing a school uniform in Fujian on April 14.
Moments later, the would-be kidnapper standing in front of them grabbed the young child, while the girl attempted to stop him from taking her brother.
The six-year-old child, dressed in red, can be seen racing after them and throwing her arms around the suspected individual while shouting for help.
The alleged abductor was reportedly stopped by passersby who rushed to help after hearing the girl's screams.
The siblings' parents reviewed the surveillance footage and reported the incident to the police, who are now investigating.
Local reports said that the alleged kidnapper was from out of town and unknown to the children.
Experts said that child abduction remains a serious issue across the country, with 24,000 women and children rescued last year, according to Beijing's Ministry of Public Security.
The government has implemented comprehensive measures, including nationwide DNA databases, public alert systems, and specialised campaigns like the 'Reunion' initiative, which has reunited thousands of families with their missing children.
