Eighteen Rabbits Abandoned Near Dumpster in Colorado
GOLDEN, Colo. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after 18 domestic rabbits were found abandoned in cages near a dumpster on May 10.
The rabbits — discovered at 15730 W. 6th Ave. Frontage Road — included two litters of babies, several adult females and one adult male. According to officials, the group consisted of six juveniles, seven younger babies with their mother, and four other rabbits.
Abandoning animals in this manner is not only irresponsible but also illegal, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the rabbits or who may recognize them is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office tip line at 303-271-5070.
