In a surprising encounter with the wild, a tusker wandered into the canteen of Don Bosco University in Sonapur, on the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam, on May 30.

The elephant, believed to have strayed from the nearby Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary, was captured on camera casually walking through the university canteen.

Rather than panic, students and staff can be seen cheering and reacting with amazement at the unexpected visitor. According to locals, the elephant entered from one side of the canteen and calmly exited through the other without causing any harm.

Such sightings have become more common in Assam, where human-wildlife interactions are increasing due to habitat encroachment and deforestation.

Fortunately, no damage or injuries were reported in this incident. Forest officials have been alerted, and the animal safely returned to the forest.
