On June 2, a dramatic incident occurred inside a restaurant in Zhoukou, Henan.

A man in his sixties, after finishing a meal, was preparing to leave the restaurant on his newly purchased electric scooter. However, due to a mishandling of the controls, he mistakenly twisted the throttle instead of applying the brake, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into the restaurant.

After shattering the glass door, the scooter sped directly toward a 1.5-year-old girl inside the restaurant. In a critical moment, the toddler’s 11-year-old sister quickly dropped the drink she was holding and rushed to scoop up her little sister, dodging the vehicle just in time and successfully preventing any injuries or worse.

After the incident, the girls’ grandfather—who is also the restaurant owner, Mr. Li—praised his older granddaughter for her brave actions. The driver admitted fault and promised to repair the restaurant door and compensate for the damages.
