On May 31, a terrifying incident occurred at Huainan South Station in Anhui Province, when a young child fell onto the high-speed rail tracks.

During the stop of train G7446 at Platform 3 of Huainan South Station, a toddler wandered away from their guardian’s view and exited the train car alone. The child accidentally slipped and fell into the gap between the train and the platform, landing on the tracks.

A railway staff member immediately spotted the situation and lay down to perform a swift rescue, pulling the child back onto the platform within seconds.

After examination, the child showed no visible injuries and was returned safely to their guardian.

The railway authorities have issued a reminder urging passengers traveling with children to keep a close watch at all times, never letting children out of their sight. They also advised travellers to be especially cautious of the gap between the train and platform when boarding, alighting, or walking on the platform, to ensure a safe journey.
