This is the astonishing moment police caught a passenger with a saw in his luggage at a high-speed train station.

The German tourist, 50, was travelling across China when he was stopped by security after saws and knives were discovered in his baggage in Shandong.

Officers found the bladed tools stashed inside three large boxes he had been transporting on his bicycle.

Authorities said the man had been touring the country solo with just a bicycle, his tools, and some essentials.

The vacationer explained that he used the tools for repairs during his journey and had not realised they were restricted items on public transport.

Police confiscated the saws and knives and issued a warning.

The tourist was allowed to continue his journey after the items were safely stored.
