On May 30th, during a Children's Day celebration event at a cinema in Xi’an, Shaanxi, a Sichuan opera face-changing performer was hilariously “extinguished” by an automatic fire sprinkler while showcasing a fire-breathing stunt—sending the audience into fits of laughter.

Video footage shows the performer in the middle of an intense fire-breathing act, with the audience fully captivated. Suddenly, the ceiling’s automatic fire suppression system was triggered—mistaking the flames for an actual fire—and shot a precise stream of water directly at the performer, instantly dousing the fire.

The unexpected moment caused the entire audience to burst into laughter, with many calling it “straight out of a comedy.” One audience member who filmed the video said that although the act was interrupted, the incident added a surprising and unforgettable twist to the event.
