Philippines - June 02, 2025 Mariveles, Bataan – The Philippine Coast Guard seized over 222 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” along the coast of Barangay Sisiman on June 2, 2025. The operation uncovered ten sacks containing the illegal drugs, surpassing the initial report of nine sacks. Coast Guard Station Bataan reported the total weight of the seized substances as 222.655 kilograms, with an estimated market value of over $15.9 million USD. Four sacks contained 100 vacuum-sealed packs labeled “Freeso Dried Durien.” Five sacks held 116 vacuum-sealed packs labeled “Daguanyin.” One sack contained seven transparent packs, each filled with suspected shabu. This law enforcement action aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to intensify efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in the country. The Dangerous Drugs Board assessed the market value, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency took custody of the evidence for validation and confirmatory laboratory testing. The seized narcotics will be transported to the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City.
