GAZA, PALESTINE - JUNE 4, 2025: Following the withdrawal of Israeli army from northern parts of the Gaza Strip, some displaced Palestinians have started returning to their homes on Wednesday, June 4. Residents who had fled due to months of intense bombardment and ground operations cautiously made their way back homes. Despite fears of renewed violence, many families voiced a deep determination to return home and rebuild their lives. The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 54,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
