The Ghazipur landfill in the capital, New Delhi, spans nearly 70 acres and rises to about 61 meters, containing over 14 million tons of accumulated waste. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), plastic pollution has reached every corner of the planet — even entering human bodies. Experts stress that sustainable waste management and stricter environmental policies are essential to tackling the crisis.
