Israel: Hundreds rally in Tel Aviv to demand cease-fire in Gaza, return of hostages
SHOTLIST: TEL AVIV, ISRAEL (JUNE 5, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS DRONE SHOTS OF ISRAELIS GATHERING IN RABIN SQUARE, TEL AVIV (NO SOUND) TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - JUNE 5: Hundreds of Israelis gathered at Rabin Square in central Tel Aviv, on Thursday, June 5, to demand an immediate halt to the ongoing war in Gaza and the return of Israeli hostages held in the blockaded enclave. Israel estimates that there are still 56 captives held in Gaza, including at least 20 alive. Last month, Hamas proposed a comprehensive package agreement to release all captives from Gaza in exchange for ending the Israeli war on Gaza, but Israel rejected the plan. Israel has continued its military campaign in Gaza since October 2023, despite mounting international calls for a ceasefire. Nearly 54,600 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of them women and children, according to local health authorities. Aid agencies warn of a looming famine among the enclave’s more than 2 million residents. In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its conduct in the enclave. Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
