Syracuse, United States - May 11, 2025 On May 11, 2025, a disturbing wildlife incident unfolded on Erie Boulevard. ECO Scalisi received a tip about someone capturing a baby goose. The report included video evidence and the suspect’s license plate number. While patrolling the area, ECO Scalisi located the vehicle a mile away and began following it. The vehicle stopped to deliver a DoorDash order, giving the officer a chance to intervene. The driver admitted to catching the baby goose and said they intended to add it to their backyard chicken flock. A child in the back seat was holding the goose in her lap. ECO Scalisi confiscated the baby goose on the spot. The driver did not have a valid license and had a previous suspension. Appearance tickets were issued for unlawful possession of protected wildlife and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree. The baby goose was safely reunited with its family.
