Thomas Jefferson Mascot Wins Race Wearing Pride Flag Cape
WASHINGTON — The Washington Nationals hosted their annual Pride Night OUT at Nationals Park on June 5, 2025, in partnership with Team DC. The event included a performance of the national anthem by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., and a special edition of the Racing Presidents race.
During the race, the Thomas Jefferson mascot wore the Progress Pride Flag as a cape and crossed the finish line first. The event was part of the team’s ongoing recognition of the LGBTQ+ community.
Pride Night OUT is one of several themed games the Nationals host throughout the season to celebrate and engage with diverse communities.
