Woman’s entire family greets new husband at airport in a party bus
A woman and her new husband were caught by surprise when her whole family picked them up from the airport at 4am - in a party bus.
Martha Lopez, 29, had brought her husband Przemyslaw Grzywacz, 35, to visit her home country of Colombia in December last year.
But Martha didn't expect that her ENTIRE would show up to greet them at the airport.
Her parents had told her that it would be just the two of them coming to pick the couple up.
But when they landed, her parents led them to the taxi rank where a massive party bus pulled up, packed with 25 members of Martha's family.
Martha, a digital marketing specialist in Toronto, Canada, said: "It felt so special and warm."
"I was totally surprised as well!"
"Usually when I come home to visit multiple people are there to pick me up and celebrate my arrival, because that's just how my family in Colombia is!"
"But because of our early arrival, I really didn't expect anything."
"We all packed into the bus and danced our way to my parents' house where the party continued into the morning."
Martha and Przemyslaw met in a Toronto bar in 2017, dated for six months and then reunited in
2018 after Martha spent a year back in Colombia.
After seven years together, Martha decided it was time for Przemyslaw to meet her family.
The couple's trip to Colombia in was Przemyslaw's first time visiting Colombia and meeting Martha's family but it was also Martha's first time visiting her home country in two years.
Przemyslaw, originally from Poland, was completely taken aback by the rambunctious welcome they received.
Martha said: "He just looked at me with such awe and bewilderment."
"He said that there was no way anything like this would happen in Poland."
"It was unexpected but we loved every minute of it and it was so heartwarming for me to see my family embrace him in this way."
Martha and Przemyslaw stayed in Colombia for a total two weeks.
They stayed in Martha's home town, the country's capital, Bogotá, with her parents and then travelled on to Cartagena and other towns.
Martha said: "It was a wonderful trip and it always means so much to visit family, even more so this time with my husband."
"The warm welcome just shows the wonderful family culture we have in Colombia."
