US: Aerial Chase Leads To Arrests In Smuggling Operation In El Paso County

United States - June 04, 2025 On June 4, 2025, aerial units from the Texas Department of Public Safety supported a smuggling interdiction operation from the sky. The Aircraft Operations Division provided real-time tracking to assist ground units, including the Texas Rangers Special Operations Group and State Troopers. A pickup truck carrying illegal immigrants was stopped during the operation. Several individuals attempted to escape on foot after bailing out of the vehicle. Thanks to aerial surveillance, the driver was tracked and arrested by Troopers. A total of seven people were apprehended and turned over to U.S. Border Patrol. The operation underscored ongoing collaboration between Texas DPS and U.S. Border Patrol in efforts to disrupt smuggling along the southern border.
