More than 150 people gathered in the Mitte district to show solidarity with Palestine and protest Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza. Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and banners reading: “Palestinian children deserve to grow up,” “Freedom for Palestine,” “Stop the aggression,” and “Lift the siege on Gaza.” Speakers at the rally called on Germany to stop supplying weapons to Israel, as they accused it of committing genocide in Gaza, and urged stronger support for the Palestinian people. Meanwhile, hundreds gathered at Mehring Square to protest what they described as Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Slogans such as “Terrorist Israel,” “Freedom for Palestine,” “Stop the genocide,” “We are thousands, we are millions, Palestine will be free,” “Zionism is a crime,” and “Don’t cry, Gaza — Palestine will be free” echoed through the protest. The Police took extensive security measures and detained at least three protesters during the demonstrations. Writing by Ayse Elif Erdis.
