PROTESTERS' STAND (2 SHOTS)CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICO - JUNE 7: Conservation groups held simultaneous demonstrations on both sides of the border on Saturday, June 7, to protest US President Donald Trump’s alleged plans to privatize 550,000 acres of protected natural land in New Mexico. The demonstrations took place at the confluence of New Mexico, Texas, and Chihuahua, drawing attention to the ecological and cultural importance of the affected areas. Ray Aguilar, a representative of the Sierra de Juarez Collective, said the region contains petroglyphs, streams, and protected zones for flora and fauna, emphasizing the risk posed to these resources by privatization. Aguilar stated that the purpose of the demonstrations was to raise public awareness about the potential sale of federally protected lands in the United States, especially in New Mexico.
