The exercise involved the Taiwan Coast Guard, the Ministry of National Defense, and the National Airborne Service Corps. Officials said the drill aimed to enhance preparedness against maritime terrorist threats and to simulate a response to potential conflict scenarios in the Taiwan Strait. In recent months, both the Chinese Coast Guard and the People’s Liberation Army have intensified their operations near the self-ruled island, escalating regional military activity. Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te delivered a speech at the opening of the exercise, highlighting the importance of readiness and coordinated defense. Writing by Aleyna Cil
