Los Angeles, United States - June 08, 2025 06/07/2025 07:20 pm GMT-0700 LANCASTER, Calif. – A suspect was fatally shot by sheriff’s deputies after allegedly opening fire during a confrontation in Lancaster on Friday. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station responded to the 1000 block of West Avenue J-12 following a report of a burglary suspect at the location. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the suspect, who has not yet been identified. According to investigators, the suspect ignored verbal commands, drew a weapon, and opened fire, striking at least one deputy. Deputies returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple agencies, including the California Highway Patrol and Lancaster Police Department, responded to assist. The incident remains under active investigation.
