US, Phoenix: Phoenix Suspect Flees After Crashing Into Police Tahoe Caught On Tape
Phoenix, United States - June 08, 2025 06/07/2025 11:32 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – A Phoenix Police Department patrol vehicle was struck by a suspected impaired driver near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road at approximately 11:32 p.m. The patrol vehicle, occupied by a single officer, was performing traffic control for a hard closure on McDowell Road relating to an active police investigation. The pickup truck, occupied by a male driver and passenger, immediately fled from the collision scene, accelerating through the active crime scene. The pickup narrowly missed detectives and officers who were in the roadway. The pickup barreled through the crime scene and made a northbound turn onto 43rd Avenue. Several officers from the scene gave chase. Moments later, the suspect lost control and crashed at the corner of 43rd Avenue and Granada Road. The driver of the pickup was quickly taken into custody. The passenger fled the area on foot. Officers, K-9 units, and the Phoenix Police Air Unit responded to the area and established a perimeter. An extensive subject search was initiated. It is unknown if the passenger was located. The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene and evaluated the suspect and the officer. The suspect refused medical attention. It is unknown if the officer inside the Tahoe was transported.
