VARIOUS OF CHILDREN PLAYING AMONG RUINS IN YARMOUK REFUGEE CAMPDAMASCUS, SYRIA - JUNE 8: For the first time since the fall of the Baath regime, Palestinians in the war-torn Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus celebrated Eid al-Adha with joy and resilience. In a place once devastated by intense fighting and regime bombardment, makeshift rides and street festivities brought life back to the rubble-strewn streets. Children laughed and played among the ruins, turning the camp into a symbol of perseverance and hope. Yarmouk, once the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Syria, suffered some of the heaviest destruction during the Assad regime’s brutal crackdown. Despite the scars of war, this Eid marked a moment of unity and joy for the families who have begun returning to the camp. Reporting by Ömer Alven // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
