This is the dramatic moment a police officer rescued a deer that crashed through a salon window in Iowa.

Emergency responders were called to Tangles Hair Salon and Boutique in Keokuk on Tuesday, June 3, around 7:30 am, following reports of a possible break-in.

The unusual culprit turned out to be a mischievous deer that had smashed through the front window of the building.

Bodycam footage shows the officer entering the salon through the broken glass, where the creature can be seen panicking and attempting to escape through a back window.

One officer is heard saying, 'Stop, bro. I know you're freaking out. Chill for a second.'

Police eventually used a catch pole to safely remove the animal from the building.
