This is the hilarious moment colleagues threw a 'welcome home' party for two workmates who were accidentally locked in a meeting room.

Two employees were trapped inside the side office in a tower block building in Manila, Philippines, on May 2.

Footage shows security guards and building staff struggling to open the door, damaging the doorknob when they could not find the key.

At one point, they even attempted to access the room through the ceiling but were unsuccessful.

After a laborious effort, the pair were finally freed and greeted by their colleagues who applauded and cheered, with one holding up a banner playfully celebrating their ‘return.'

The white sign read: ‘Welcome to the outside world'. The other staff clapped and shouted.

One teammate said: 'We were working onsite when suddenly, my colleagues were locked in one of the meeting rooms. It took the building facilitators a while to free them.

'And being Filipinos by nature, instead of stressing about how serious or scary it was, we pretended it was a reality show and turned the moment into something funny.'
