US, Bakersfield: Los Angeles Day 4 Ice Protest Part 1

Bakersfield, United States - June 09, 2025 06/09/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 Los Angeles – Protests against federal immigration enforcement continued in downtown Los Angeles for a fourth day, centered around the Federal Building located at 300 N. Los Angeles St. This afternoon, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in the streets surrounding the building, waving Mexican flags as federal enforcement officers provided security. California National Guard personnel were also present at the location. Protesters engaged in disruptive behavior, including performing donuts in the roadway on Temple Street. California Highway Patrol officers in riot gear blocked protesters from accessing the 101 freeway. In addition to the CHP, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were visible throughout the area. Footage from the vicinity of Temple and the 101 freeway showed a significant police presence. No estimates were available regarding the size of the crowd at this time.
