Thai Navy continues search for missing American tourist, 28, in Phuket
The Thai Navy continued the search today for a missing American tourist who fell overboard from a yacht off the coast of Thailand.
Divers and rescue teams scoured the sea as they looked for Dane Endler Johnson, 28, who reportedly disappeared off holiday island Phuket on June 8.
Jet skis and rubber boats were deployed to aid in the efforts, but the tourist from Florida has not yet been found.
The search was suspended due to poor weather on Monday before it resumed today, June 10.
Authorities said drones will also be dispatched to extend the search radius.
Dane reportedly plunged from the side of the luxury vessel around a nautical mile off Yamu Cape on holiday island Phuket on Sunday morning.
He rented the Malaysian-registered pleasure craft called 'de Mareft' with his family from June 5 to 11, but was said to have vanished on June 8.
Crew knocked on his room but found it empty as they were calling him for breakfast. They reportedly discovered empty alcohol bottles inside.
Police said Dane, who was initially reported to be British but was confirmed by officials to be American, was seen on CCTV sitting on a rubber boat at the rear of the yacht at around 3 am. He was said to have leapt into the sea but was unable to swim his way back.
