Dunedin, United States - June 06, 2025 Two large sharks were seen swimming just 3,000 feet from the shore of Honeymoon Island on June 6, 2025. The moment was captured by John Yanchoris, who has been filming marine life in the area for five years. “I was flying in what I call ‘Shark Alley’ when I saw them,” Yanchoris said. “I see about 30 sharks every other day from April to October.” The area, located off Dunedin Causeway, is a known feeding zone according to local divers. Yanchoris said he was about to end his drone flight at 8:30 a.m. when the two sharks appeared. “I followed them for quite a while. It was amazing to film,” he said. He added that he often shares his marine videos with thousands of followers on Facebook, showcasing the rich sea life of Honeymoon Island, Caladesi Island, and Dunedin Causeway. His footage of the June 6 sighting has already drawn attention online.
