US: Lava Blasts Over 1000 Feet As Kīlauea Eruption Lights Up Night Sky
United States - June 04, 2025 Halemaʻumaʻu, Hawaii – Episode 24 of the ongoing Kīlauea eruption lit up the sky for 7.5 hours overnight. The eruption began at 8:55 p.m. HST on June 4 and ended at 4:28 a.m. HST on June 5. Timelapse video from livestream cameras V1, V2, V3, and the KPcam captured multiple angles of the eruption. Both the north and south vents erupted during the event. Lava fountains shot over 1,000 feet into the air, reaching nearly 300 meters in height. The eruption plume soared to 16,500 feet, or about 5,000 meters above ground level. The dramatic footage shows the full power of Kīlauea’s latest explosive display.
