Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for Houthi group, announced that the group had successfully targeted Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport with ballistic missiles, forcing flight suspensions and triggering sirens across Israel. The Israeli military, however, stated that the missile was "most likely intercepted," with no immediate reports of casualties or damage. In a televised statement, Saree said the Yemeni Armed Forces launched two missiles—a "Palestine-2" hypersonic missile and a "Zulfiqar" ballistic missile—at the airport, also known as Lod Airport. He claimed one missile struck directly, bypassing Israeli air defenses, and caused a halt in air traffic while forcing residents into shelters. The Houthi spokesman reiterated a ban on flights to and from Ben Gurion, warning airlines to suspend operations. He also declared the Port of Haifa a "new target" in response to Israeli strikes on Yemen’s Al-Hudaydah port. Contrary to the Houthi claims, the Israeli military said air defenses had "most likely intercepted" the missile after sirens sounded in central Israel, Jerusalem, southern West Bank settlements, and parts of southern Israel. The military added that interceptor missiles were launched to prevent falling shrapnel. The escalation follows an Israeli naval strikes on three seaports in western Yemen, including the ports of Al-Hudaydah, Salif and Ras Isa earlier on Tuesday. The Israeli military said the strike targeted Houthi infrastructure in retaliation for a missile launch toward Israel on Monday, which reportedly fell short of its target. Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV confirmed the attack on Al-Hudaydah but did not provide details on damage or casualties. Writing by Sibel Uygun
