Pug cools off in paddling pool to escape summer heat
This is the amusing moment a pet pug cooled off in a paddling pool to escape the summer heat.
Footage shows Chunkie paddling through the water toward his owner, Rewelyn Reduta, as temperatures soared to 33 degrees Celsius in Manila, the Philippines.
The wide-eyed pooch splashed eagerly while the woman cheered him on June 6.
When the canine reached the edge of the pool, his delighted owner petted him.
Rewelyn said: 'Chunkie loves to swim, and since it was a bit hot, we decided to set up the pool and let him enjoy a dip.'
Pugs are particularly susceptible to heat exhaustion and heatstroke due to their brachycephalic anatomy, which impairs efficient heat dissipation. Their dense double coat can also retain body heat, increasing their risk of overheating even in moderately warm conditions.
