The self-proclaimed 'King of Sunbeds' known for his expertise in getting the best bathing spot by the pool has shared his top tips for poolside etiquette.

Johnny Seifert, 32, is a well-seasoned holidaymaker and has gathered all the tricks to make the most of sunbathing time.

The showbiz journalist and content creator, from Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, has earnt a reputation for his hot tips on how to bag the best sun lounger.

But the expert has now shared some of his insights into poolside etiquette - to be the perfect sunbather and not bug your neighbours.

If sunbeds are all reserved by people who have put down towels, but aren't using the beds, he said you should wait an HOUR - before turfing the towels off.

Johnny said bringing a full-sized pizza - or any food that requires a knife and fork - to eat on a sunbed is an absolute no-no.

And families, or large groups of friends, should claim clusters of sunbeds, rather than a row - to avoid disturbing others.

Johnny said: "I'd clockwatch for an hour, and if nobody comes to use the bed, sorry - it's mine now."

"You can just claim you didn't realise it was theirs."

"As for food, I don't mind you nibbling on breadsticks, or maybe one slice of pizza."

"But a whole pizza, anything smelly, or if you're sat there gobbling a salad with mayonnaise dripping down your face, go to a table."

"Anything that is eaten with a knife and fork, don't be eating that around the pool."

"Drinks are fine of course!"

"And for groups, take a circle, not a row - so you're not shouting down a line."

"It's just about finding ways not to disturb everyone else."

Johnny said taking short calls around the pool, using headphones is ok.

But anything on loud-speaker, like music, is off the cards - and video calls are a big no.

He said: "Listen to your music, or do your long phone calls, in a private place."

"I don't need to hear your life story while you're sat on a deckchair."

"And with music, I decide what I listen to, not you."

"Give us some peace and quiet!"

He said at hotels with multiple pools, parents of children should ensure they remain around the children's pool at all times - and not stray to the adult section.

And even for adults that choose to go for a dip in the adult section, there should be no splashing or disruption.

Johnny said: "I want peace and quiet - when I'm ready for kids, I'll sit by the kids pool."

"And no matter which pool, if you can see people lay down with books, don't splash around too much."

The use of umbrellas should also be done with care, he said - to ensure you don't shade anyone bar yourself.

And his final rule - one which he said should NEVER be disobeyed - is wearing tiny speedo swimming briefs around the pool.

While he acknowledges that they're good for sports - chilling by the hotel pool is quite the opposite.

He said: "No men should be wearing those."

"We don't need to see everything!"

"Especially when they bend over to pick up their flip flops."

"On holiday, by a hotel pool, there's no need for that."
