TYLER, Texas — Smith County Emergency Services District 2 successfully rescued a skittish dog trapped in a storm drain shortly after 1:30 p.m. on June 9, according to a post on the district’s Facebook page.

Crews were alerted to an animal stranded underground and, after ensuring a safe environment, attempted to coax the dog from multiple storm drain entrances. The cautious dog initially resisted but was eventually retrieved through patient efforts.
