Bakersfield, United States - June 12, 2025 06/11/2025 10:15 pm GMT-0700 LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Multiple witnesses reported that ICE agents are staying at a hotel in Whittier. On Wednesday evening, a large protest took place outside the Doubletree Hilton Hotel, located in the 7300 block of Greenleaf Avenue and a nearby street. The Whittier Police Department, with assistance from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Response Team (SRT) units and multiple outside agencies, responded to the scene. As the protest intensified, some demonstrators became violent, vandalizing the hotel as well as ICE vehicles, including trucks and vans parked in the hotel’s lot, per security at the hotel that chose to remain off-camera. The SRT arrived to disperse the crowd and push protesters away from the hotel. At this time, it remains unknown how much property was damaged or how many vehicles were vandalized. Additionally, it is unclear if any arrests were made during the incident. Many protesters were vocally demanding that ICE agents leave Whittier and the state.
