Milei, who announced plans to move Argentina’s embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, has faced criticism both domestically and internationally. During his second official visit to Israel since taking office, Milei encountered demonstrators expressing their opposition by waving Palestinian flags. Demonstrators urged Milei to avoid escalating tensions and called for restraint. Israel has been trying to convince nations to transfer their missions from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Jerusalem remains at the heart of the perennial Mideast conflict, with Palestinians hoping East Jerusalem -- occupied by Israel since 1967 -- might eventually serve as the capital of an independent Palestinian state.
