This is the terrifying moment a hungry wild boar raided a tent in search of food.

A family was camping along the MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong when the hog suddenly stormed into their site.

Footage shows the feral pig sprinting toward the tent set up next to a tree, startling a woman who has been eating snacks nearby on June 3.

The frightened camper quickly backed away as the animal sniffed around the shelter before tugging out items stored inside.

Cushions and blankets were strewn across the grassy field as the creature rummaged through the tent.

The woman tried to scare it off by batting the canvas with a stick several times while keeping her distance.

The filmer said the wild boar eventually wandered away, prompting the family to search for another place to set up camp.

Wild boars are dangerous because they are fast, have sharp tusks, act unpredictably, protect their young aggressively, and may carry diseases.

Forest rangers advise tourists to stay calm, back away slowly, and keep food and belongings secured when encountering wild boars.
