This is the dramatic moment floodwaters roared across a road during a heavy downpour in the Philippines.

Dramatic footage captured by resident John Rey Tumanda shows a torrent of muddy water sweeping through Camaman-an Village in Cagayan de Oro City.

One stranded rider was seen pushing his motorcycle to safety, while other vehicles were left partially submerged in the deluge on June 11.

John Rey said: 'It happened around 4 pm that day. I was surprised, as it was the first time I had experienced something like this in our area.'

The intense rainfall also flooded homes in the village. Residents in low-lying areas were evacuated but allowed to return once the water subsided in the evening.
