Tehran, Iran - June 14, 2025 Air Force planes flew and completed a wave of strikes in the skies over Tehran; Air Force Commander, Major General Tomer Bar: "The strikes above the skies of Tehran carry operational and national significance. We chose to act against an existential threat to the security of our citizens, with professionalism, determination, and precision." Dozens of Air Force fighter jets attacked dozens of targets in Tehran, including ground-to-air missile infrastructure, as part of the effort to degrade the air defense capabilities of the Iranian regime in the Tehran area. From the remarks of Air Force Commander, Major General Tomer Bar, during the situation assessment following the wave of strikes: "After an intense 24 hours in which we attacked hundreds of targets, including dozens of air defense targets, we carried out a wave of precise strikes with operational and national significance above the skies of Tehran, enhancing our air superiority and freedom of action in Iran. For the first time since the beginning of the war, dozens of Air Force fighter jets flew over the skies of Tehran, more than 1,500 kilometers from the territory of the State of Israel, and attacked defense systems in the Tehran area. We chose to act against an existential threat to the security of our citizens, with professionalism, determination, and precision. Operations of this kind require complex coordination and integration among various elements and capabilities within the Air Force. The Air Force will continue to operate in all arenas, in defense and offense, serving as the strategic and long-reaching arm of the IDF."
