Representatives of local religious communities, volunteers, military personnel, police officers, Red Cross partners, and children’s groups joined the celebration. As part of the “Native Angel” ceremony, children whose fathers were killed in the war read short stories about them, created a large postcard to send to the sky, and released white balloons with messages as symbols of love, remembrance, and loss.
