During a routine visit to the doctor, six-month-old Argyle's giggles erupted every time the dispenser activated, turning an ordinary office moment into a full-on comedy show.

His mom, Jaime, couldn’t help but marvel at his naturally cheerful spirit, saying:

“Can confirm his giggles are, in fact, contagious… From the first moment it was physically possible, our baby boy Argyle was a smiler. Now, at 6 months, he’s a giggler. Some might even say a cackler.”

My husband and I love to laugh. It must be genetic, because - from the first moment it was physically possible - our baby boy Argyle was a smiler, too. Now, at 6 months, he’s a giggler. (Some might even say a cackler.)

Case in point: while waiting for the doctor at his 4-month checkup (even though he was 5 months old by then… oopsie-daisy… better late than never?!), we were doing tummy time on the examination table and Argyle spat up. Like… a LOT. You know how it is, when you’re on your belly.

Naturally, I ran over to the automated paper towel dispenser, waved my hand in front, and let the paper, well… dispense. From behind, I hear a giggle. I tore the paper off, and turned around to a laughing baby… who was also increasingly covered in spitup. “Do you like the paper towel dispenser?” I asked in my mom voice, cleaning him up as fast as possible before the doctor arrived.

I don’t know why I rushed, because we ended up waiting so long for the doctor that no more toys or carrying him around the room were doing the trick. My baby was getting bored, and it was only a matter of time before I dropped the F word. (FUSSY. Wait, what did you think I was going to say?)

“Oh, right,” I thought, “The paper towel dispenser!” And it did *not* disappoint. The video you see was actually the third or so time I ripped off a piece of paper… it was too funny not to film.

Eventually, the doctor came in, and got a kick out of the giggles. Unfortunately for Arglye, he needed to get a shot. Poor baby started crying once the needle did its thing, which of course shattered my first-time-mom heart.

Luckily, I now knew a miracle machine that could cure all ills. To the paper towel dispenser! With a wave of his hand, the dispenser buzzed out another sheet, and Argyle’s tears were dried before I could even use the paper itself to do so!

He has since acted this way over me tearing Velcro, kicking a pine cone up the driveway, blowing raspberries on his belly, and us listening to my husband’s weird hiccups. Every chance is a chance to giggle, and I’d wave my hand over every paper dispenser on the planet to make sure he never stopped.
