Terrifying moment firework factory warehouse erupts
This is the terrifying moment a fireworks factory warehouse erupted in a massive explosion.
Local media reported that a freak rockfall triggered the blast after a large boulder tumbled downhill and struck the Julong Fireworks and Firecrackers Warehouse in Donglan, China.
The impact set off a chain reaction of explosions as the stockpiled firecrackers ignited.
Dramatic footage shows the deafening blasts, with thousands of pyrotechnics shooting into the sky and thick white smoke blanketing the area on May 25.
Bright flashes and continuous bursts of colourful sparks lit up the air.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene but had to wait until the explosions subsided before extinguishing the remaining flames.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
China remains the world's largest exporter of fireworks, generating USD 1.4 billion in 2024 and accounting for 86.8 per cent of the global market share. The country is followed by the United States and Japan.
