US, Bakersfield: Tempe No Kings Day Protesters March Downtown

Bakersfield, United States - June 15, 2025 06/14/2025 08:00 pm GMT-0700 TEMPE, Ariz. – Hundreds of protesters gathered at the intersection of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue overnight to protest Donald Trump and recent ICE immigration enforcement. Tempe police officers closed the southbound lanes of the Mill Avenue bridge as they instructed demonstrators to stay on the sidewalk while protesting. Protesters marched East on Rio Salado Parkway for several blocks before returning to the intersection. Protesters then proceeded to march South on Mill Avenue before returning to the intersection. At one point, officers on bicycles surrounded a man marching on the sidewalk and took him into custody for unknown reasons. Protesters began obstructing traffic as officers attempted to reopen the Mill Avenue bridge. Protesters were observed throwing water bottles and fireworks. The crowd eventually dispersed at approximately 12:30 a.m.
