Israel - June 16, 2025 During overnight operations, the Israeli Navy successfully intercepted eight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran using the advanced ‘Barak Magen’ air defense system. This marks the first operational use of the long-range ‘LRAD’ interceptor, deployed aboard Sa’ar 6-class missile ships. According to the IDF, the ‘Barak Magen’ system is capable of countering a wide range of threats, including UAVs, cruise missiles, ballistic threats, and anti-ship missiles. Since the beginning of the operation, approximately 25 UAVs have been intercepted by the Israeli Navy in coordination with the Israeli Air Force, significantly bolstering aerial defense coverage.
