This is the astonishing moment a herd of goats blocked a busy road in Taiwan.

Dozens of the runaway farm animals were seen scattered across the highway, causing traffic congestion in Tainan.

Footage captured by Jay Chen shows the hoofed creatures running in different directions on June 5.

Concerned motorists were seen slowing down as they passed along the motorway, carefully avoiding the animals.

Neither animals nor passing motorists were reportedly injured in the incident.

Chen Chongyu, director of the Dalin Police Station, said: ‘We didn't receive any report about the goats, but after reviewing videos circulating online, we immediately investigated the incident.'

Authorities confirmed that the herder failed to properly manage the livestock, which led to a violation of Article 84 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Regulation. The owner will be fined between 300 NTD and 600 NTD (approximately 7.50 GBP to 15 GBP).
