I went out to document the 2025 anti-tourism protest in Barcelona — what started as a peaceful walk through Barcelona quickly turned into total chaos.

Protesters had gathered outside a local hostel, taping up the entrance in symbolic protest against mass tourism. Things escalated fast — water guns started flying, firecrackers popped off, and smoke bombs filled the air. The street became a stage of confusion, frustration, and adrenaline.

Just to add a twist, I wore a MAGA hat — not as a political statement, but as a kind of social experiment. It’s one of the most globally recognized “tourist” symbols, and I wanted to see how people would react. Let’s just say… they noticed.

At one point, I found myself completely soaked, caught in the middle of the tension, and ultimately escorted out by police for my own safety.
