The Olympic and world champion was received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the Serbia Palace on Tuesday, June 17. During the meeting, Vucic announced Bolt’s role as the event’s ambassador and confirmed that 115 countries are expected to participate in the international exhibition. Praising Bolt’s legendary career, Vucic highlighted the athlete’s world records in the 100m and 200m sprints, stating, "I doubt anyone will ever run faster than him. No matter how much technology evolves or training methods advance, he remains the greatest sprinter in history. His 19.19 in the 200m might one day be beaten, but I believe 9.58 will stand forever." Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Bolt said, he is excited to promote EXPO 2027 to the world and look forward to showcasing Belgrade’s potential. Scheduled to run for 93 days, EXPO 2027 will serve as a global platform for nations to present their cultural, technological, and innovative visions under the theme "Play for Humanity: Sports and Music for All."
