Jinhua, China - June 16, 2025 A fierce typhoon brought torrential rain to Yongkang, trapping three male students in a bridge culvert in Fangyan Town. Seeking shelter from the storm, they were caught by rapidly rising river waters. The boys clung desperately to a water pipe, at risk of being swept away by the raging current. The situation was critical, with their lives hanging in the balance as the floodwaters surged around them. Zhejiang firefighters braved the treacherous waters, rescuing two of the students within five minutes, pulling them to safety. "One was swept away!" shouted one of the rescued, spurring the team into action. Firefighters searched downstream, racing against time. At 150 meters, they found the third student, already saved by courageous workers at a nearby construction site. Miraculously, all three escaped unharmed. As heavy rain and storms persist, authorities urge caution. Avoid unnecessary travel, stay clear of rivers, low-lying areas, and unstable structures, and heed local warnings to ensure safety.
