This is the terrifying moment a wild boar knocked over a motorcycle rider and attacked him in India.

CCTV footage shows the man riding with his eight-year-old son when they were suddenly struck by the aggressive hog in Barmer City, Rajasthan.

The wild pig then went on a rampage, targeting the rider, who was later identified by authorities as Dungaram Vishnoi, a local businessman.

His child managed to escape while Dungaram was being mauled by the animal. Nearby residents intervened, scaring the boar away and rescuing both father and child.

Police said Dungaram was on his way to his grocery store when the attack occurred on June 16, around 7:30 am.

Authorities reported that he sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Wild boars are commonly found in and around Indian villages, where they sometimes raid crops and cause property damage. Experts attribute this behaviour to habitat loss and dwindling natural food sources, which increasingly drive the animals into human-populated areas in search of sustenance.
