PETERSBURG, RUSSIA - JUNE 18, 2025: The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) opened its doors to visitors with the participation of senior government and corporate representatives from 140 countries on Wednesday, June 18. This year’s event hosts over 20,000 attendees, including top officials from the Russian government and major companies. High-level delegates from countries such as Türkiye, China, Indonesia, and South Africa are also expected to attend. Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to deliver remarks during the forum’s main session on June 20, addressing key global and regional issues. The forum, which runs through June 21, is also expected to feature the signing of significant economic and trade agreements between Russia and participating nations. Held annually in St. Petersburg since 1997, SPIEF is considered one of the world’s leading economic forums. In recent years, delegations from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East have become its primary participants, especially following the decline in Western involvement after the start of the Ukraine war.
