Hapless tanker driver tackles slope only to roll back into ditch
A hapless tanker driver attempting to manoeuvre through a sloping curve ended up rolling backwards and crashing into a ditch.
CCTV footage shows the septic pumper approaching a sharp turn in the hilly island of Koh Samui in southern Thailand.
It was seen reversing to tackle the road, but it failed to stop in time, causing its rear wheels to slip downhill.
The vehicle, used for collecting liquid waste from homes and buildings, plunged into a ravine.
The driver was unhurt and was rescued by locals who rushed to the scene upon hearing the noise on May 18.
Resident Phallop Meepian said: 'The waste collection truck of Moonthongkham Company Limited slipped and lost control, reversing and falling off Bang Po Soi 4. The driver was safe.'
The tanker, which was empty at the time, was found partially submerged in a river below.
