This is the dramatic moment a stray dog trapped under a bridge was rescued in Thailand.

Passersby discovered the helpless pooch stranded beneath the platform in Phuket.

Concerned locals immediately contacted the Kusoldham Phuket Animal Rescue team to help retrieve the white and brown canine.

Footage shows the volunteers looping a rope and lowering it toward the neck of the visibly weak dog.

They then carefully hoisted the animal to safety and removed the cable, prompting the dog to run away immediately.

The filmer said: 'We checked the dog to see if it was okay, and fortunately, he did not sustain any injuries from what happened.'

The Kusoldham Phuket Foundation is a non-profit organisation in the province dedicated to providing free emergency assistance, animal rescues, and public aid, including support for accident victims.
