United States - June 17, 2025 A dramatic video shows an airplane releasing a massive cloud of red fire retardant over the Bonanza wildfire. The aircraft swoops low over the burning hills, unloading its cargo to slow the flames. The red plume blankets the scorched land, a striking scene in the fight against the growing fire. CAL FIRE’s Amador-El Dorado Unit confirmed the fire has reached 181 acres. Containment remains at 10 percent as of 9:00 pm. Crews continue working overnight to build and reinforce control lines. The air support is part of an urgent effort to hold the fire back. Despite the aerial assault, evacuation orders and road closures remain in effect. At 8:45 pm, some evacuation warnings were lifted, but others remain. Officials had earlier reported forward progress had been stopped, but the threat is not over. Residents are urged to stay alert and check perimetermap.com for updates.
